HELPING ANY WAY WE CAN
Supporting Our Clients in All Aspects of Life
Who We Serve
Tobosa Developmental Services is the premier provider of services for individuals with developmental disabilities in Southeast New Mexico. We serve hundreds of people in our community, providing a safe space for growth and development through our innovative programs and individualized care.
Our clients come to us with varying levels of ability; therefore, it is essential for our success to offer support across four different stages of need. This ranges from round-the-clock care to occasional check-ins. By utilizing this structured approach, we are able to effectively meet each individual’s needs where they are, thus helping them progress toward a life of achievement and independence.

Overview:
Our Supported Living program offers 24-hour guidance for clients with developmental disabilities. For many individuals, living alone is not feasible. This program provides complete support, enabling them to reside in safe homes. Here, they can develop important skills for a more independent life.
Daily Assistance:
We assist clients with both basic and advanced tasks, such as:
– Eating
– Bathing
– Taking medication
– Meal preparation
– Laundry
– Grocery shopping
Peer Connections
One of the most valuable aspects of Supported Living is the opportunity for clients to live alongside their peers. By sharing a home with two to three others, they often form strong friendships. Our Advocate Support students learn, experience life, and share daily activities together. They live in spacious homes located in friendly, safe neighborhoods in or around Roswell. There, they live under the supervision of trained direct-support staff, available 24/7.
Purpose and Approach
Tobosa’s Family Living Program plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities through regular check-ins. We prioritize fostering independence and well-being while addressing the unique needs of each client.
Building Relationships
The foundation of our approach lies in meaningful relationships, which are built through consistent check-ins. These interactions allow our service coordinators to understand each individual’s unique circumstances and challenges. As a result, this understanding enables us to offer personalized guidance as clients navigate daily life.
Progress Assessment
During check-ins, we focus not only on assessing the client’s progress toward their independence goals but also on identifying areas that may need additional support. We aim to improve daily living skills, enhance social connections, and engage with community resources. This tailored support helps clients make meaningful strides toward their objectives.
Conclusion
Ultimately, Tobosa’s Family Living Program emphasizes the importance of regular check-ins. This framework allows individuals with disabilities to explore their independence while feeling supported. By maintaining consistent contact, we help clients overcome obstacles and enrich their lives, paving the way for a fulfilling and independent future.

Our Commitment
Everyone involved has invested their hearts into this mission. We believe that most people want to live independently, and we actively encourage this goal for our clients. Although some may face significant challenges, we are fully committed to finding opportunities for everyone interested in pursuing independence.
