Testimonals

At Tobosa, we take great joy in witnessing our clients build friendships, graduate from high school, pursue their dreams and passions, explore the world, enter the workforce, get married, and start families of their own. These experiences remind us of the importance of our work. We are dedicated to creating these stories that show the triumph of human potential among our staff, our clients, and our community. Together, we show what is possible.

I am a 32-year-old adult who wants to live her life like a normal person. Employment services will help me reach this goal. Employment services helped me gain independence by knowing when to do my courier route and when to get my filing done. Being independent in handling how to train a new individual, and keeping everything organized. I’ve been in Tobosa since I was 18. They take good care of me, and they treat me with respect. Tobosa changed my life; it helped me be independent and learn how to do stuff on my own.

I have been at Tobosa Developmental Services for a while. I go to Dayhab every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. I go out into the community and have fun because I love hanging out with the group. I graduated from high school, and I got a job on base, cleaning. So, Tobosa has taught me lots of things and I really like it.

I appreciate Home-Visiting for many reasons, but the top on the list by far has to be how our sweet Ana always takes time to ask how I(mom) am doing, feeling, and getting by. You can just feel that the questions come from a genuine person who has our best interests in mind. Home visiting has supported my relationship with my children by guiding and providing me with resources and education on becoming and having a stronger relationship with my children. The biggest change that I have noticed since starting with the Home visiting program has been to learn how to advocate for myself and my children, ask for help when needed, and create a positive environment for them.

We’ve seen real progress since joining Family Living. The support feels natural because we’re doing it together as a family.

Family Living Provider

I have been in Tobosa since July of last year. I was living with my stepmom until I moved to Tobosa. I like Tobosa. I hang out with friends, watch TV, eat lunch, watch movies, and go to Walmart and other stores. This weekend, I will go to Bear Lake, and at the end of the month, I will visit Ruidoso. I’m excited for it, and I would recommend Tobosa Developmental Services.

Family Living helped turn our home into a place of purpose. It’s been one of the most meaningful experiences thus far!

Family Living Provider

I appreciate how well they handle my child. It taught me how to understand how to handle my son and what was going on with him at the time. We communicate better since starting the program.

Family Living has brought so much joy and purpose into our home. My son is thriving with all the services he receives. It’s a great support!

It’s incredible to see the growth that can happen in a stable, supportive home. Through Family Living, we’ve been able to give structure, dignity, and belonging to my grandson, which he truly deserves!

Anthony, my son, has been involved with Tobosa since last month. He is mainly involved with the dayhab’s services, which allows him to be out in the community more often. He still sings and dances with everything he has, and Tobosa is another way to share that. He loves the 1-on-1s with the Direct-Support Professionals, and all of the employees have been good to him. I love him with all my heart, and everything I get, I give to him. So, I know that they treat him well, and Anthony and I will continue with Tobosa.

Our son Zachary has been with Tobosa for two years, and the experience has been nothing short of transformative. After graduating high school and completing the Special Services program at ENMU-R, Zachary came to live with us. While we were happy to have him home, our work schedules limit our ability to foster his continued growth. Additionally, he had a strong desire to live more independently. Unfortunately, due to his developmental delays, living on his own wasn’t a safe or realistic option at that time.

Tobosa came highly recommended by several people in our community. We are so grateful we followed their advice. Zachary moved into a home with three other young men, and since then, he has truly thrived. He’s out in the community every day, holds a job, and most importantly, he’s happy and proud of his life.

He has formed meaningful relationships with both staff and fellow clients, and we’ve been consistently impressed by the kindness, patience, and professionalism of the Tobosa team. As his guardians, we work closely with the staff to ensure that Zachary’s needs are met and that he is empowered to pursue the personal goals that matter most to him. Tobosa has helped Zachary grow in ways we couldn’t have imagined, and we are deeply thankful for the care and support they provide.

My son Jody has been a client at Tobosa Developmental Services in their home-based program since 2014. Jody’s care has been good and compassionate. He is one of the more difficult clients to care for, and his caregivers have always done an amazing job controlling him, redirecting him to keep him safe, and providing activities for him that he enjoys. In my opinion, Tobosa is an organization that puts their clients' care first and foremost. They monitor events closely and are quick to investigate occurrences and provide interventions and training for staff as needed. Jody has his moments, but the training provided to staff allows them to redirect and get Jody back on his happy track. He is happy with his staff and his home. I would recommend Tobosa to anyone looking for a place for their loved one who has developmental delays.
